Our Mission
Equal Play was founded in Massachusetts by parents who believe that every child deserves the opportunity to play team sports — regardless of family income or circumstance.
As parents, we’ve seen firsthand the confidence, friendships, and life skills that come from participating in youth athletics. We’ve also seen how quickly rising costs — equipment, registration fees, and club expenses — can shut children out before they ever step onto the field.
Equal Play was created to address that gap.

Our Vision
We hope to create a world where a child’s opportunity to play team sports is not determined by family income.
By removing financial barriers to participation, we aim to give more children access to the confidence, belonging, and life skills that sports provide. Our goal is not just to help kids get on the field today, but to foster inclusion, resilience, and community that lasts well beyond the game.
When every child has the chance to play, everyone benefits.

What makes us different
Equal Play Foundation is focused on removing the practical barriers that prevent children from participating in team sports — and doing so in a way that is simple, respectful, and community-driven.
Unlike broader youth development organizations, Equal Play concentrates specifically on access: equipment, registration fees, and participation costs. Our support is targeted, discreet, and designed to integrate children directly into existing teams and programs, rather than creating separate or parallel experiences.
At its core, Equal Play is about fairness, inclusion, and impact — ensuring opportunity in youth sports is based on enthusiasm and potential, not financial means.
"Equal Play gave my child the chance to be part of a team. It's more than just sports, it's about belonging."
A grateful parent
